Better Late than Never…

I know January is already half-way over so it’s kind of late to be saying…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

But, there, I said it anyway.  Our New Year’s Eve was pretty lame.  The thing is, we can’t even blame it on being parents because we haven’t gone out for New Year’s for the last few years!

3 years ago, we went to our dear friends, Marc and Katie’s apartment to ring in 2010.  It was just the four of us. We had dinner, played some Wii, watched the ball drop and went home.  Low key, just our style.

The following year was our first New Years in our house.  Since our upstairs bathroom was newly finished after it’s “gut-job”, we decided to paint it, and our dining room that night.  We even technically missed midnight that year.  Oops!

At the end of 2011, I was hugely pregnant and there was no way I was going to spend New Years eve with people who could drink while I waddled around trying to find new ways to stretch my lower back.  Bob and I got crazy here at home and worked on a puzzle on our dining room table (whose walls were beautifully painted exactly a year prior). 🙂

This year, we had the same plans.  My sister came to stay with us so that she could go out with some friends down in the city.  Bob passed out on the couch probably 45 minutes after she left (maybe 10pm?).  I woke him up in time to see the ball drop.  We toasted with the same flutes we used at our wedding.

Cheers!
Waterford flutes – wedding gift from friends!

I’ve never been one to make resolutions for the coming year because I am well aware that I would break all of them come February (or sooner).

I do have some goals in 2013 for myself, the blog, and our house.  Hopefully I can see them through.

BTW, My baby boy turns ONE next month!  WHAT?!?!  How is that possible??  photo-10

I’ve had a theme in mind for his party since day 1 and I can’t wait to work on food and decorations for the big day!

Can’t wait to see what the new year has in store for us!
